To everyone. Your thoughts and insights were truly valuable.
This vintage pattern below, for $5 is on its way from Etsy. I am thinking Mr Suave in the middle will be the project. A little shorter perhaps and maybe I might switch pockets to internal side pockets....we shall see, but the pattern is PERFECT for what I need. I will cut a muslin when it arrives and work slowly...after all, I have several months!
Thank you again. I will update you on my progress.
Quick turnaround! I love it. Did you show your son that pic on the pattern envelope??? Love to see his response!
ReplyDeleteI am hiding the picture of the pattern from my son.....until he can see the project in progress. Then I will preface it by saying, "Who would think a vintage pattern could be so 2010-take a look at this pattern!"
ReplyDeleteBaby steps......
What a sweet story! I hope you enjoy making the coat, and I know he will treasure it!
ReplyDeleteThat pattern is perfect. Opened the new Sydney Magazine this morning (a very trendy glossy that comes with the Herald) - guess what the fashion spread was? Four ways to wear a man's pea coat. Black wool is very 'on trend'.
ReplyDeleteGreat coat! Yes, there aren't many men's patterns out there. I can't wait to see your progress!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you made the Cynthia Rowley dress --- I just bought that pattern after months of seeing everyone else's gorgeous versions! You picked a great fabric and it looks fantastic. I can't wait to get started on mine!
I like.
