Dress Twin

Well, when you see a sheath dress for well over $100 at your daughter's favorite store, you always leave mumbling, "I can make that."
I already had this nylon rosette tulle in my stash. What are the chances?

I used the tried and true Burda 3477. After 2 muslins, and several fittings we now have a muslin to use for future dresses. This dress had to be more fitted tighter than the original dress.

I lined it with bemberg, 14 inch zipper , and have yet to complete the hem. Not a difficult pattern , but a great basic sheath with princess seams that allows for a great fit.

Worth it!

  10. That is such a great dress for your daughter, the inspiration version looks as if it would be far too boxy. The fit on the custom dress looks terrific. I love the fabric.

  13. Absolute proof, should your daughter need it, that sewing is worth every penny and minute. Sheath dresses are the biggest ripoffs on shop hangers, and you've done a great job on both fronts, dress and daughter!
