Skirts

Please excuse the quality of these pictures.....

Prada Spring 2011 featured many stripes. Stripe fabric of this nature is impossible to find. After an exhaustive search, I pieced together many strips of cotton sateen using the trusty serger.

Jil Sander Spring 2011 also featured skirts with a ruffle at the top. This is a lovely green/ black/ gold brocade. This was fun to construct, but the weight of the ruffle at the top presented some drag issues....

I am taking a break from blogging until September. Enjoy the remainder of the summer, and I will reconnect again then.

Thank you for all your kind comments, take care all.

  1. Love the top skirt, so bright, classic. I see your still playing with the Jill Sanders idea in the botton skirt. Enjoy your vacation.

  3. Love them! You are the master of designer details. My next knock-off attempt is the Joseph "Vanessa" dress Duchess Kate wore in Canada. For Annie's sorority rush in Sept. May need to consult you.

  4. Love them! Especially the one with the ruffle around the hip. You're fortunate to be able to pull those looks off too. I wonder everytime I visit SR Harris if I'll run into you...just wear one of these so I'll recognize you :-)

  5. I love your skirts! I looked for wide spriped fabric, and then just gave up. Kudos to you for piecing it yourself! And the bottom skirt looks like a true designer piece; 1.000 dollars at least. Have a great summer!

  6. I like the pink and orange one the best. I love the two colours together, they are so zingy! It looks a lot like the inspiration photo as well.

  8. I was fooled by your first skirt, thinking it was one of the designer originals! Brilliant, I would never have thought of piecing together the fabric I wanted. Have a good break,
